Not to be confused with the pentagram, a pentacle is a disk inscribed with a magical symbol, not always of five points. This one is from a design related by Pietro di Abano, and is of the sort used to invoke the Planetary Forces. It is rendered here in the magical color of the Moon, who traditionally keeps the gates of the Celestial realms.
