Chanukkah Menora in Gold

This short five-frame animation does not show how realistic looking the flames are, but you get the idea. Click the Try-it button to see it in 3-D. I made it slightly larger than life-size but you can use the scale tool to make it any size you like.

A little background:

Chanukkah, the Jewish festival of rededication, also known as the festival of lights, is an eight day festival beginning on the 25th day of the Jewish month of Kislev.

The Chanukah Menora is a nine-branched candelabrum as opposed to the seven-branched menorah used in the ancient Temple or as a symbol. The menorah is among the most widely produced articles of Jewish ceremonial art. The menorah is a traditional symbol of Judaism.

Chanukkah celebrates the rededication of the Temple after the successful Jewish revolt against the Seleucid monarchy. The Jews found only enough ritually pure olive oil to light the menorah for one day, but the supply miraculously lasted eight days until a new supply could be obtained. In celebration of this miracle, the Chanukkah menorah has eight branches for eight candles or oil lamps. The ninth candle, called the shamash ("helper or servant"), is a candle used to light the other candles.

Enjoy Chanukah with this realistic looking menorah.
