This is a segment of the center panel of Bosch's triptych The Temptation of St. Anthony.
Flemish painter Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1516) was famous for his devotional paintings and unique, almost surrealistic style. His art was quite different for the time, particularly given his location. Some call him a great satirist, and certainly some of the symbolism reflect a deep pessimism and anxiety for a period of time in flux.
Bosch's paintings are public domain.
