Your own piece of Hell

This is just a small segment of Hieronymus Bosch's most famous tryptich "The Garden of Earthly Delight." This is from the third segment, or the right wing entitled "Hell."

Flemish painter Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1516) was famous for his devotional paintings and unique, almost surrealistic style. His art was quite different for the time, particularly given his location. Some call him a great satirist, and certainly some of the symbolism reflect a deep pessimism and anxiety for a period of time in flux.

Bosch's paintings are public domain.
