New Jordan Grown V2: While Jordan Brand has created some of the most iconic basketball shoes of all time through the Air Jordan line, their new silhouettes tend to tread on familiar ground, borrowing significant aspects from those Air Jordans to create attractive new, albeit similar, shoes. That is not the case with the brand new Jordan Grown which, besides a passing resemblance to the Campus Chukka by way of its general shape, is a shoe all its own. Clearly a lifestyle shoe rather than something for the court, the Grown features a simple, streamlined upper—either denim or canvas—with a minimum amount of overlays and a classic vulcanized rubber midsole with a Jordan wings logo on the lateral side. Finally, the outsole sports elephant print tread, a first as far as I know. Look for the Jordan Grown release date in July, initially hitting stores in a neutral grey canvas style as well as a dark charcoal denim.
