Forged from meteoric iron and carried into battle against the forces of evil for generations, Flamebringer became a tool for the evil it had slain so often when it was used to deliver the killing blow to a demon of fire and shadow and became tainted by the powerful demon's essence. Flamebringer delivers a large resistance to its wielder (in D&D it would be resistance 30), but is immune itself. And it burns so within its metal that it can be used to release the within.
