Antiphospholipid Syndrome [APS] is a newly diagnosed autoimmune disease where the afflicted person's blood is targeted by the body's immune system. Specifically, the phospholipid - that membrane that holds a red blood cell together - is attacked, causing the blood to clot as it tries to protect itself.
