Bahrain was one of the nations to rise up against oppression a few years ago as part of the Arab Spring, a movement that spread across the Middle East as a result of a Tunisian man, Mohamed Bouazizi, burning himself in protest to unjust treatment. The Arabs are currently the only group of people to have the courage to actively fight against global oppression at the moment, apart from the people of Iceland. Because the Bahraini government has an agreement with the US Navy, American assistance has not been forthcoming in Bahrain's situation, and the uprising was brutally crushed by the Emir (who proclaimed himself king) using Saudi anti-riot forces. The people of Bahrain remain determined to struggle on for their rights in spite of the setbacks.
