The Ceiling Pour

It's time to patch the roof again! What underground structure would be complete without the prerequisite Ceiling Pour. This small flow influx of sand, complete with ever collecting bottom pile just screams "Old" and "Ancient". It also screams, "Where's the broom and dustpan". It's the perfect edition to any dungeon, pyramid interior, tomb, or cave. I'll leave the cobwebs and rats to up you!

(BTW, I *DO* sell rats!)

Like all Furniture items, you can use the Furniture Controls to copy, move, scale, and rotate the Ceiling Pour as much as you desire. Have one or a whole bushel of them. I personally wouldn't have a bushel though... I have dust allergies.

Wish that sand looked more like water? Slime? BLOOD?! Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

This is the Texture map used for the Sand, both Falling and the Pile. Use this to make simple changes, like color:

This is the Opacity layer for the Falling Sand. An Opacity layer is a black and white image, acting like a silhouette. Everything that is black is invisible, and everything that is white is solid. Anything gray becomes transparent and glass-like. The darker the gray, the less you see it. I would personally avoid using anything but solid black and white, as IMVU has issues handling translucent transparencies, such as causing hair and clothing to disappear. Also be aware that this image scrolls downward, so the Top and Bottom must match:

There is no Wireframe template for the Ceiling Pour, as it's Texture is repeated many times. If you do make a texture from scratch though, make certain the top and bottom match, or an unsightly line will appear as the sane moves.

Well this isn't an action item and therefore shouldn't need sound, if you do wish to add sound, I'd highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Also avoid looping sounds, as they tend to get annoying to listen to very quickly. Try to keep your volume levels low as well, as IMVU tends to over-amplify all audio playback to near ear-bleeding levels.
