Upon the 'Living World', the sentient earth breathes and dreams.

As the world dreams, bits of it's blood and flesh (magma and stone) become slowly and individually sentient. Flavored with the tone and mood of each of the earth's dreams, the 'People of the Dreaming Earth' ultimately mature by calling to it the jewels which echo the dream it was born from. These jewels become set within the sockets of their eyes; sparkling and lit from within by their magma blood.

The utterly inhuman, imperturbable, and unpredictable resulting species spend all their time shaping, nurturing, and guarding the mountains, cliffs, canyons, and soils of the world. Since they travel by melding with the earth and sending their consciousness (and eyes) at high speeds through the earth itself, reshaping their stone bodies where their consciousness arrives, you'll never know where one will turn up. And, depending on where the rock person has been, they MAY bring with them something of interest. ^_~

These jewel contacts are used by natives to trade with the People of the Dreaming Earth; as the creatures will speak with none but those who have similarly structured eyes. Please, use caution when approaching a stone person. The earth can be a dangerous being to those who fail to show the proper respect.



Onyx eyes are common in stone persons who are the strangest, most regal, and most aloof of all. Their magnetic and electrical auras, as well as their silent, charismatic allure, all indicate the possession of some hidden, immense power. Frequently seen deep in the mountains and at the roots of mountains, the natives say that, should they disappear, the very fabric of the stone and earth would unravel, and the world would be destroyed.
