Derivable Wearable Snow Globe with Room for Two For Deriving Only. Do Not Buy!

Derivable version of my Wearable Snow Globe available here. It's like the smaller snow globes you shake but this one is clothing you wear and is big enough for an avatar or two. This is an accessory than can be worn by male and female avatars.

All of the textures except for possibly the glass will need to be changed to your own. If you like you can change the color or clearness of the glass, but you don't need to. Below are guides on what size and type of texture to use. These are not textures themselves but examples of what you will see in Create Mode. Use this to help you derive a nice looking product of your own. I presume that you already have a working knowledge of making textures and loading them into Create. If so, this should be pretty easy. I also included some info on how to tweak the animations if you desire although this is not necessary unless you want to change the trigger words.

If you have any problems or questions either check out one of the many tutorials or message me. I am always happy to help!

So, get your textures ready and click Derive from Product near the bottom of this page and let's get started!

Opacity Map

Texture is the color of the glass.
Opacity Map is the "clearness". Darker = More Clear
Parameters: Checkbox Use Blending, Mode="Composite"

Texture

Because the texture is wrapped around the curved surfaces and is distorted in some areas, I recommend a wood grain texture or a solid color. Sometimes a slightly different color on the edge gives the product a more defined 3D look. If you want to do this, the bevel changes to the vertical edge at pixel 167. The edge is also the same material as the top.

Material 02 - 07 all use the same texture and opacity map. I did this to minimize file size so that it would not bee too "laggy" on some computers.

Texture is the color of the Snow or whatever you have falling inside.
Opacity Map is like a cut-out of what you want to appear. Use Black and White only and DO NOT use Blending. Make the area were you want to see the texture white and make the rest of it black. Keep your falling objects (snow) small, just a few pixels across and in the center of the image. Space a few of them vertically. Remember, Less is More.

I recommend using either .png or possibly .bmp images for this one. They have better image quality. To minimize file size decrease color depth to 2 or the lowest you can.

Texture Animation
I have 6 textures to give each one a slightly different speed to give it a look of randomness. You do not NEED to change anything there unless you want to adjust the speed of how fast the snow falls. If you do:

Make sure the checkbox for On is checked.
Mode = "Scrolling"
Direction Y is for Down or Up, Negative (-) values for down, the larger the number the faster it goes. Original values are -2 to -7.

Left and Right direction and speed is controlled by Mesh Animation in Actions.

The texture is over a curvy surface to appear like snow. Different lighting conditions will affect how that surface looks.

Presto! You have an Animated Wearable Snow Globe in the catalog!

This product is found under Female Accessories but can be worn by both male and female avatars. It does not contain any pose spots. The pose spots are a function of the room you are in.

Important Note: The glass in this globe uses blending to make the glass see-through. Since IMVU cannot display one product that uses blending if looking through another product that also uses blending, one will disappear when attempting to do so. This means that if for example, your hair uses blending you will not see the hair and you will look bald. Also, if you are looking through glass that uses blending at this globe, the glass on the globe will disappear. This is just the way the IMVU 3D engine works with all products that use blending and is not a defect in the product. If you want to know about blending and opacities or just check to see if any of the items in your outfit use it, check out the Opacity Checker/Tester by CapnRon available here.

You may want to include a similar note in your catalog page to inform your customers.

Do Not Buy this product unless you want a snow globe with funny textures. No refunds, sorry. I mentioned this in several places.
If you have a problem or question, please message me. I am always happy to help!

Good Luck!
