Prince Bane, forsaking his family's alliance with nature, rides the winds of Ethyrial without the aid of flora or fauna. The skeletal remains of a once stately Grandfather Tree stands as a testament that power is made, not gifted by others.
Bane's Royal Barge, the Barren, physically represents the prince's philosophy of dominance over these land energies, as he warps and twists it to do his bidding. If allowed to succeed, Bane would see all the floating kingships of Ethyrial bow to his new vision of the future. Nature is no friend, but a resource, to be tapped and dominated over.
