PLEASE NOTE: The DJ Headphones works equally well for Male and Female avies, but is found under Male Hairstyles, due to IMVU's limited item categories. This item also conflicts with any item that uses Channel 97 in the avie's body. Extremely few items replace that body channel, but if one of your items does it will either remove this item, or the other item. It might not properly fit Custom Heads and certain Hairstyles. To ensure your satisfaction with this product, please use TRY IT before you BUY IT! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't fit your needs.

Not a fan of the color Red? Want some new effect to come out of the sides of the Headphones? Well quite complaining and DERIVE it! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Here are the templates you'll need below:

This is the Texture map for the Body of the Headphones. Use this to make simple changes, such as color or decals:

This is the Wireframe layout for the Body of the Headphones. You'll need this if you wish to make a completely new Headphone design from scratch, as it shows you exactly how the Texture map image attaches to the model:

This is the "Gray" Template for the Headphones. It's an aspect-ratio correct image, meaning that it hasn't been scaled down to fit the 256x128 image size of the actual Texture map. It's also free from Color and Logos, allowing you to easily add your own. Just block off the parts you wish to color, and add your decals. Then rescale the finished version back down to 256x128 to create your new Texture map:

This is the Texture map for the Light Effect on the sides of the Headphones. If you change this image, make sure the top and bottom edge are the same, so your effect will be continuous. If they don't match, you'll see a little sharp edge that will spin around the cups of the Headphones:

There is a Texture map for the O-Rings, which come out of the sides of the Headphones, but it's solid white so it's not included here. If you wish to change the color of the rings, simply use another solid color, matching the size of the O-Ring's Opacity image, shown below.

This is the Opacity layer for the O-Rings. As you can see, it's simple a series of dashes against a black background. Everything that is Black is invisible, and everything White is solid. This does not effect the color, which is controlled by the Texture map. If you wish to use something more complex, like Fire, you'll need a new Texture map and matching Opacity image. Bear in mind that the O-Rings arn't mapped exactly, they are purposely offset and only use part of the image. Check out the Wireframe layout Template for details:

This is the Wireframe layout for the O-Rings. As you can see, each section is offset, and only part of the image is mapped to the object. This is to allow more variety in the appearance of the rings. If you want to use a different effect, like fire, and/or scroll your new effect vertically rather then horizontally, use this template to guide your new effect design:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Please keep your sound volume levels within acceptable limits. DON'T MAKE YOUR SOUND AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!!! Loud sounds will annoy other users, and reduce your sales. Also avoid using Looping sounds, as IMVU has no controls to stop Looping sounds once they start playing.
