The Welsh love spoon was traditionally carved by a young man, for the woman he intended to marry.
The more ornate craftsmanship, the more apparent to his future in-laws, his ability to provide for their daughter and their future grandchildren,
and therefor, all the more likely to gain their approval.
The different pictures carved into the spoon communicated things such as; devotion, purity of heart, faithfulness, and sometimes even how many children the couple hoped for.

Hang this on the wall in your house to show everyone how much you are loved.
