The Noh "Hannya" Mask

Noh is ancient japanese theater. During the performances, actors would dress up as men, women, and spirits, and act out different soap opera style plots. Each costume was topped with a traditional mask, matching an iconic reoccurring character. This particular mask, the Hannya, was usually used to represent a scorned woman, driven into demonic rage by an unfaithful lover or revenge over a past lost. Think of it like the chick from "The Grudge" or "The Ring"... or Loran Bobbet!

Of course, with a kick'n demonic face like that, this mask has also been adopted in recent years by fictional male characters in japanese anime, stories, and video games. For instance, Yoshimitsu from Tekken, the Oniwabanshuu warrior from Rurouni Kenshin, and Zuko from the Last Avatar.

Much like the original masks, which were only worn by Male actors, This Version is for Men Only! . A separate version for female avies available in the catalog. Also, it will only fit the Default Male avie's head properly. If you use a custom avie head, PLEASE use "Try It" before you Buy It! There will be no refunds if you purchase the wrong version!

Commands are:
"Melt" to warp the face for a short time.
"Open" to slide the mask up for a moment.
"Jitter" makes the mask go CRAZY!
"Haunted" makes the mask fly around of it's own accord.
