DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!
This product is a mesh intended for developers to derive from. If you buy it, you will end up with an ugly-looking backflap cloth. If you are wishing to purchase a derived version of this backflap cloth, please check them out here.
You can find the male version of this backflap cloth here.

This mesh was requested by MelancholyChild, who also did the art direction for it.
Without her original idea and feedback, it would never have come to be!

Developer's guide

Welcome developer. This is a quick guide to deriving from this mesh, with some information on the texturing patterns used and several templates aimed at making your life easier.

Specifications

This layerable backflap cloth is intended to create a piece of cloth that hangs from the avatar hips. The cloth is layerable so that it doesn't replace any piece of clothing, and can thus be worn with any other bottoms product. The cloth has an opacity map so that you can change its shape into whatever you want to make it. There is also a belt included that sits on top of the flap, going all around the avatar hips. The belt also has opacity enabled so that you can shape it as you wish.

The upper part of the cloth flap is meshed close to the skin, so that you can texture it to make it look like it's attached to the clothing underneath, if you want. The belt is also quite tight-fitting, so that it doesn't stick out too much. Of course this means that the product will clip if the bottom clothing worn underneath has wider hips or a bigger backside. You should probably want to make a note of this for your customers.

The mesh has been carefully weighted so that it bends naturally with the pelvis and legs. Being as tight-fitting as they are, they might clip with the pelvis or with the legs in some poses. Nonetheless, this shouldn't be much of a problem most of the time, but you might want to warn your costumers about it on your product page, as well.

Textures

All the materials in the mesh have been assigned meaningful names to make it easier to identify them. All of the textures are oppacity mapped and non-tiling. Also, the placeholder textures that are in place are color-coded to help you in easily identify what material they belong to. Nonetheless, here's the templates for all the materials on the mesh, as well as a definition of what they are and their main characteristics. You can download the templates for the textures by right-clicking on their names and selecting "Save file as..." from the context menu. I strongly recommend you use JPG files for your textures.
