Making your songs IMVU compatible
Music used with IMVU needs to be in what is called a .ogg format, any music you want to use must first be converted to a .ogg file. Any product on IMVU has a maximum size of 1.9 megs so not only must you convert to .ogg format you must ensure it's under 1.9 megs in size or it will not work. To convert your mp3 and wma music files to .ogg is fairly simple and there are a number of free and pay programs that will do it, just Google for an Mp3 to .ogg converter or try downloading the software I use DOWNLOAD A FREE TRIAL HERE The free trial allows you to convert one song at a time, the full version is only $25 and worth it if your serious, but the free version works a charm if your just going to do a couple of songs. To find out the size of your finished .ogg file just right click on it and select properties. if you song is over 1.9 megs you will need to reduce the quality or cut the song shorter.
Every product sold in the catalogue has an icon, these are the little product pictures you see when browsing the catalogue. The icon pictures need to be EXACTLY 100pixels wide and 80pixels high, otherwise they will not work and you will get an error when trying to submit. Make your own or if your unsure just choose one of the premade ones I have here

1. Click on the Derive from product button and the IMVU previewer will open and ask you to sign in. The previewer will open on thea base Materials tab.

2. Look at the tabs along the top and click on the one that says actions, with invisible music its the only one we use

Above in the actions tab at the top you will see a button that says ADD. Click on this, then look at the section that says "Trigger" In here type in a trigger word to make your music play, its best to keep this simple and in lowercase. DO NOT USE ANY SPACES JUST ONE WORD eg. playmusic
Under the Triggers section there is a box that says, "Ensembles Played" put the number 1 in here.
Below this is the section that says " Sound - .oggfile"
Click on the browse button and locate your under 2meg .ogg file and select it.
Then click on Apply Changes. ( Top Left )

*You now need to save your file. I recommend saving these to a folder on your desktop, have your icon I there as well as it makes submitting easier. Save your product with a name in lower case with no spaces eg mysong. Wait til your PC saves and then you are ready too submit to the catalogue.
*Click on the submit button, when the submission page opens. Give your song a name and a product description, it's VERY important to mention the trigger word that will make the song play!.
*Set your price at over and above what the base price is, this is your profit that will help pay your submission fees.
*Browse to your icon for the catalogue and your song cfl you just saved
*Take the tick out of the box that says Derivable:
*Add some keywords so people can find and buy your music in the catalogue.
*Then Hit The Submit Button and with any luck you will have your music ring in the catalogue. If you get an error like CFL Error, this normally means that you have mad your music .ogg file to big and will have to redo and submit.
