People can't tell if these "Rawr Things" are some kind of reptile or some kind of amphibian. They seem to enjoy stomping around and destroying cities like a dinosaur, but also love to try and sit on lily pads and eat flies. The only sound they seem to be able to make is "rawr". When they make this sound in high pitch it normally is to express glee or excitement, but if they call out in a loud and deep pitch it usually means they don't like what you're doing and you should stop before they stomp on you.
