The eyes of a phoenix or, perhaps, an infuriated dragon. Is the they put off intense enough to be felt across the room? Perhaps, perhaps not, but they are intense enough to not be obscured by darkness or fog.
Try not to stare too hard at your friends, they might not be as resilient as you; ash does not make for pleasant conversations.
