The Fairy Dragon Tail
(This item is for Male and Female avies!)

Ever found yourself in need of a tail so convoluted it could never possibly exist in the natural world? You really shouldn't... but if you do, check out the Fairy Dragon Tail! This tail is somewhere between lizard, insect, and fevered dream. Combining armored plates and spikes with wild articulation, along with a few feathers just for the hell of it, it should leave the viewer stunned in confusion. Whatever kind of creature it's supposed to be attached to, it also features lively animations. One thing's for certain, anything this weird has DEFINITELY got to be poisonous! For heaven's sake, don't eat it!

PLEASE NOTE: The Fairy Dragon Tail is found under Female Accessories, but works equally well with both Male and Female avies. It attaches to the Pelvis node of the avie's skeleton. There's a limit to the number of things you can attach to any Node, so it might conflict with other items which attach the root node, such as other pets. If you add too many items to your root node, this item might vanish, or cause one of your other items to disappear. As always, to ensure your full satisfaction with this product, please use TRY IT before you BUY IT! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't fit your needs.

---------------------------- Deriving Section --------------------------

Wish that color gradient went from Green to Red? Midnight Black? Razor Blade Feathers!? Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

This is the actual Texture map used on the Body of the Tail:

This is the Wireframe Template for the Body of the Tails. This shows you exactly how the Texture map adheres to the structure of the model. You'll need this if you want to create a completely new Texture map. If you do alter the image be aware that the blinking eye requires the eye image to be roughly the same size and shape as this Texture template above:

This is the Texture map for the Feathers. The left section is for the underside of the Wings, and the right is the top. Like the Body, this image is mirrored on the other side, so avoid anything that would look strange if backwards:

This is the Opacity layer for the Feathers. An Opacity image is like a Black and White silhouette, which tells the computer which parts of the image should be visible, and which should not. Basically, the darker the image becomes, the less of the model is visible. You can use gray to make things glass-like, but due to errors in IMVU's handing of transparency, you might see other strange graphic glitches. It's best to stick to solid white and black. Remember that this image MUST be a silhouette of your new Texture. Always stay with in the limits of the boxes shown on the Wireframe Template:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:

Also avoid looping sounds, as they tend to get annoying to listen to very quickly. Try to keep your volume levels low as well, as IMVU tends to over-amplify all audio playback to near ear-bleeding levels.
