Made for my own personal use in memory of my Father.

My father was trained as a Seaman at HMS Ganges in Shotkey, kent in the United kingdom. He left Shotley as a trained Nurse and worked his way throuhg the ranks to become a Captain of a MTB (Motor Torpeedo Boat.

Because of what my father taight me I am the person I am today.

The Logo for HMS Ganges is an Elephant so this animated Elephant bears the HMS Ganges Logo / Crest. Thanks Dad.

The base was closed down a long time ago. The mast you see below was on the grounds of the site. Every morning no matter what the weather the boys had to climb over the mast, on parade days a button boy had to climb tot he top and sit on the crows nest, he earnt a shilling for doing this, 1 shilling = 5pennies. yes my father was a button boy, all teh biys were, they took it in turns to sit at the very top! over 100 feet high!
