This incense burner is a very well known piece, which is familiar to the
most of us. It not only represents the Goryeo Celadon works, but is also one
of the proud cultural assets of Korea, which has gathered great attention
and popularity when exhibited in overseas locations.
This incense burner consists mainly of three parts, the cover, through which the incense smoke passes to the outside, the body, where incense is burned, and the stand, which supports the structures above it. This piece has not only been created as a complete structure by functionally combining the differently shaped parts, but also has been decorated with various design techniques including intaglio, relief, openwork, white slip underglazing, inlaying and molding. This incense burner is further accentuated by the three little rabbits supporting the pedestal. Although the image of the rabbits has been extremely simplified, details even to the inward attributes of the rabbits have been successfully illustrated
