---------------------------- Deriving Section --------------------------

Want those animations to play faster? Slow? Prefer Blue Energy Blasts? And how about some SOUND EFFECTS??! Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

This is the "Additive" texture used for the glowing Breath Blast effects. Additive means that this image is both the Texture map and the Opacity layer. The brightness of the image not only determines it's color, but also it's solidness. So if you replace this image, you NEED to make something that is bright in the middle, and completely black at the edges. If you do not, you'll get a solid white cone with no definition at all. You can use it in "Composite", or with no blending at all, but you should use black on the edges regardless:

Breath Blast effects are separated into 3 parts, with the Energy Ball on the Left, the Energy Beam in the Middle, and the Fire Rings on the Right. They also match on top and bottom, so they can scroll continuously. If you make new ones, make certain to stay within the borders of this sample, and match the top and bottom of your image so it can scroll without an ugly line moving through the model.

It's possible to alter the shape of the head drastically. In the Editor, under the Meshes tab, look for Mesh Scale, and carefully alter the numbers. Keep between 1.0 and 0.7, in most cases, or the results might become comical and bizarre (unless that's what you're into).

The timings on the included animations can also be altered, under the Actions Tab. If you alter one of the animations using loops, make certain all of the settings between the Skeletal and Morph animations match. If there is no matching Skeletal or Morph animations, then don't worry about it.

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Also avoid looping sounds, as they tend to get annoying to listen to very quickly. Try to keep your volume levels low as well, as IMVU tends to over-amplify all audio playback to near ear-bleeding levels.
