Based off the historical c.16th century extant garment, Dead Pleasures is proud to bring you the Shinrone Gown! Discovered in the 1860's in a bog near Shinrone, co. Tipperary, Ireland, this version is missing only the full sleeves of the leigne to make it completely accurate (sorry, this is due to mesh constraints and I can't fix it).

Our version is based on extensive historical research which has uncovered saffron-colored tunics (ours is faded so you don’t go blind) and personal home dyeing experiments with period materials (the red of the gown has been created in my kitchen using alum as a mordant and several different herbs and plants). It has been textured using period-accurate recreation fabrics- 15 oz hemp linen twill for the gown, and 12 oz linen ticking for the leigne. The buttons are textured from photographs of period-accurate pewter buttons.

Enjoy your little piece of Irish history! Slainte is tainte!
