Weathered, barnacle-incrusted pier at Joyudas (muelle de Joyudas), Cabo Rojo, in the island of Puerto Rico. Joyudas is in the south-west coast of Puerto Rico, and it's dotted with small piers and seafood restaurants. Close to it are several of the most-visited beaches in the island, such as Boqueron, Combate, and the "Isla de Ratones" (literally "Mice Island," although there are really no rodents in it; it's a tiny island reached by boat in just a couple of minutes).
The pier comes with 5 beach sounds, triggered by pier1 to pier5.
History of "El Combate": In 1759 the locals fought with a neighboring town for the ownership of the salt flats, hence the name "El Combate" (literally "the combat" or "the skirmish"). You will find restaurants on the road and the beach area at the end of Rt. 3301. This beach is part of the Boquerón Forest Reserve. Go farther south to reach the salt flats and the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. If you have never seen how sea salt is harvested, this is a good place to see how its done.
