The Hearing Aid
(This version only works properly with Male avies, Female version sold Separately!)

Whether you're hard of hearing or well on your way to become a SUPER HUMAN CYBORG, you can't go wrong with the Hearing Aid! This item is full of techno-coolness and is an amalgam of a traditional hearing aid and a cochlear implant. Something this cool might inspire you to take the next obvious next step: LASER VISION!

PLEASE NOTE: This version is for MEN ONLY. There is a Female Hearing Aid available, sold separately. . It attaches to the "Head" bone of the avatar's skeleton, so it might conflict with other head attachments if you have too many on that bone. Large hairstyles will conceal it completely. To get the best results, it should be used with slim, pulled-back hair, Mohawks, or scalp shaving. Please use TRY IT before you BUY IT to ensure it works with your chosen outfit! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't work with your existing outfit or body type.

---------------------------- Deriving Section --------------------------

Wish the hearing aid came in boring cream color? Showed different parts? PULSED WITH CYBERNETIC LIFE!? Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

This is the actual Texture map used on the Hearing Aid. Use this to make small changes, like color or shade:

There is an Opacity layer, but it's solid white, so it's not included here. An Opacity layer is like a black and white silhouette, with the white parts being visible and the black being invisible(racism!). If you want to remove parts, you'll need a image the exact same size as the Texture map, but with the parts you want to keep in white, and the rest in black.

This is the Wireframe Template for the Hearing. This shows you exactly how the Texture map adheres to the structure of the model. You'll need this if you want to create a completely new Texture map. I've highlighted each section of the model in one of 3 colors, should you want to redefine the Opacity layer to remove parts:

Here is an example image of the wireframe and colored parts, just to give you a better idea of which part is which:

This item shouldn't need sound, but to add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Also avoid looping sounds, as they tend to get annoying to listen to very quickly. Try to keep your volume levels low as well, as IMVU tends to over-amplify all audio playback to near ear-bleeding levels.
