Bimbo is a slang term for a conventionally attractive, sexualized, naive, and unintelligent woman. The term was originally used in the United States as early as 1919 for an unintelligent or brutish man. As of the early 21st century, the "stereotypical bimbo" appearance became that of an attractive woman. It is often used to describe women who are blond, have curvaceous figures, heavy makeup, and revealing clothing. It is commonly associated with "the dumb blonde" stereotype. In 2017 the movement “The Bimbo Movement” was founded by self proclaimed bimbo and adult star Alicia Amira, “the woman most responsible for popularizing the idea of reclaiming hyper-femininity.“ in order to destigmatise women who are bimbos and to reclaim the term “bimbo”. The Bimbo Movement is a movement to empower women to be proud to embrace their femininity and take ownership of their sexuality and by doing so reclaiming the word “bimbo” and fight back against the misogynistic connotations the term “bimbo” had been associated with. The bimbo movement is an internationally recognised women’s right movement consisting of hundreds of thousands of self-proclaimed bimbos working to end stigma. An "it girl" is an attractive young woman, generally a celebrity, who is perceived to have both appeal and a personality that is especially engaging. The expression it girl originated in British upper-class society around the turn of the 20th century. It gained further attention in 1927 with the popularity of the Paramount Studios film "It", starring Clara Bow. In the earlier usage, a woman was especially perceived as an it girl if she had achieved a high level of popularity without flaunting her sexuality. Today, the term is used more to apply simply to fame and beauty. The Oxford English Dictionary distinguishes between the chiefly American usage of "a glamorous, vivacious, or sexually attractive actress, model, etc.", and the chiefly British usage of "a young, rich woman who has achieved celebrity because of her socialite lifestyle". The male version of an "it girl" is an "it boy". (source:wikipedia)
