The Card Trick
(Despite the avie shown in this video, this item is for Men and Women)

Oh sure, you've got a deck of cards at home, but can YOUR deck of cards cut down an entire army? Can you're cards form an impenetrable wall of defense around you? Well the Card Trick deck can! These 17 mystical playing cards can not only entertain you with their ghostly self shuffling antics, but also cut anyone in half within 30 feet of you, and protect you from all sides. You haven't seen cards this powerful since Gambit picked up a deck in the Xmen!

Commands are:
"CardOrbit" sends the cards flying around you before shuffling back into you're pocket.
"CardHouse" assembles a House of Cards before you're very eyes.
"CardAttack" sends out a brutal ring of slicing cards that cut down anyone nearby.
"CardDefence" surrounds you in super-sized, bullet-proof, spinning cards.
"CardWall" builds a castle wall out of super-sized cards, protecting you and your friends.
"CardDragon" sends the cards flying around like a Dragon Kite or Serpent.
The cards always return to your pocket again when they're done doing you're bidding.

PLEASE NOTE: This item will work equally well with Male and Female avies, but is found under Male Accessories because IMVU lacks a Uni- category. Also it attaches to the "Root" bone on the avie's body, the same attachment point used by Pets and other non-body-attached accessories. There is a limit to the number of things you can have attached to that bone, so this might remove Pet or another item you have on, or have the Card Trick removed by those items. Since the Card Trick remains hidden until used, you might not notice you're no longer wearing it. If it's not working, make sure you actually have it on!

Wish the cards where Throwing Stars? How about some killer shuffling sound effects? Then DERIVE IT! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started:

Please bear in mind, before you get started, that this item can be used to make a wide range of objects, not just playing cards! The cards are 2, 2D sheets, stuck back to back. The cards all have an Opacity layer. This means you could cut these cards to look like Throwing Stars, Saw Blades, Hearts, Magic Gems, or anything else that works as a thin object. You can use the front of the cards to show 17 different objects, or the back of the card to show just one object repeated 17 items. You can use the Opacity layer to mask away the front or back, if you don't want to use them. Playing cards are just an example! You can do all kinds of wonderful and dangerous things with this deck. Don't think of them as cards at all! Think of them as 17 sheets of paper, which you can shape into any small, flat object you desire!

This is the texture map used on the Cards. There's 18 images total, but one of the cards is the back. This back is repeated on all of the cards, so anything you do on it will appear on all of the cards. So, if you want to have 17 floating gems, each being different, you can draw what you like on all of the card fronts and ignore the back. Or if you want 17 floating ninja stars, all the same, by drawing just one star on the back card and ignore the rest:

I don't have the Opacity layer here, because the one this item uses is all white. But if you want to have Ninja Stars, Floating Hearts, or whatever, you need to draw a white Silhouette of your object against a completely Black background. And the white of your silhouette needs to line up precisely with what you drew on the texture map above. Save this as a JPEG, the exact size and shape as you're texture map, and you're good to go!

This is the Wireframe layout for the model. You'll need this if you want to turn the cards into other objects, as this will show you were each 2D sheet is. This is basically the lines of the paper you need to draw within. Keep in mind that the card on the middle, far right, is the Back Card. This is the card that repeats 17 times. All the other cards are only shown once:

If you do choose to use just one side, Front or Back, make certain to change your Material settings to 2-Sided. By default it's one sided, which means that if you mask away one side, the cards will become invisible when they are facing away from you. You don't want that!

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
