The great symbol of fertility, Tnatantja, was held in the greatest esteem. It existed long before men and women were created. It was so tall that it touched the sky, and was decorated with down that dispersed in the wind and eventually became living men. Under the protection of the Termite woman, during high winds the Tnatantja snapped in half many times, before resurrecting itself with its powerful life force. Wherever it fell it caused tremors that formed ridges and troughs in the ground.
This beautiful bed has been inspired by the Australian landscape and its Creation, as told by the Aranda people of central Australia.
