The Wizards Staff

Need to lay down the magical smack down on your enemies? Or maybe you need to protect yourself from others nefarious attacks? Well do both with the Wizard's Staff! Well I can't tell you which Wizard this staff belongs to, I can say he's neither a whiny teenager or associated with Tolkien. In any case, this staff remains hidden until summoned forth from the Ether, at which time it can strike out against your foes with a powerful barrage of Lightning, or protect you within a bubble of mystical energy. And, just for kicks, it can also confuse your foes with it's Cloning and Teleporting abilities. Not only is this a powerful and capable mystical tool, but it also looks pretty cool too. All the fashionable Warlocks will be using them this year!

Here's the Commands:
"SummonStaff" brings the staff forth from the mystical plane. (It's hidden until used!)
"Lightning" calls forth a barrage of Lightning Bolts to SMITE your enemies.
"Shield" Generates a powerful mystical barrier to protect you for a short while.
"Clone" moves you back and forth so fast that you appear to be in two places at once!
"Teleport" zips you around wildly to confuse and bewilder your foes.
(move into or out of a seat, or change your clothing, to make the staff disappear again)

PLEASE NOTE: This item will work equally well with Male and Female avies, but is found under Male Accessories because IMVU lacks a Uni- category. The Staff remains hidden until used. It will only appear when summoned or used. This item also conflicts with any item that uses Channel 64 in the avie's body. Extremely few items replace that body channel, but if one of your items does it will either remove this item, or the other item. If you're in doubt, use TRY IT before you BUY IT! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't work with your existing outfit.

Wish the staff looked a bit more EVIL? Or how about some sound effects to go with that Lightning?? Well then, quite complaining and DERIVE it! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started:

This is the texture used for the Body of the Staff. Use this to make small changes to the appearance of the wood, like changing it's color:

This is a "Gray" base texture for the Body of the Staff. Use this if you wish to make a completely new texture but want to retain my shading:

This is the Wireframe layout for the Body of the Staff. This shows you exactly how each and every pixel attaches to the model. This is important if you want to make a completely new skin and need a thorough understanding of how the texture attaches to the model:

This is the textured used on the Crystal Ball on top of the Staff:

This is the Opacity layer used for the Crystal Ball. The darker something is, the more transparent it becomes. White would be solid, black would be invisible. Change this if you want the Ball to be more solid or more "glassy":

This is the Wireframe layout for the Crystal Ball:

This is the texture used for the Leaves that sprout off the Body of the Staff. You could use this to change the color of the leaves, or replace them entirely with some other kind of object that hangs off the side. If you do change the shape of the leaf though, make sure you make a matching Opacity layer:

This is the Opacity Layer for the Leaves. If you wish to replace the leaves with some other kind of leaf or object, you need to make sure the white silhouette of this skin matches the outline of your texture above. Or, if you want to remove the leaves entirely, just replace both the Texture and Opacity layer with 32x32 pixel black images. By using small black images the leaves will disappear and you'll save on file size:

This is the texture used for the Energy Ball that pulses inside the Crystal Ball:

This is the Opacity layer for the Energy Ball. Don't use the "Blending" setting under the Materials Tab, or the Ball will be made invisible by the Crystal Ball:

This is the texture used for the Shield Ball. The Shield Ball is also inside the Crystal Ball, but remains invisible because of the Blending used by the Crystal Ball. This texture also uses an Opacity layer, but the Opacity layer is just another copy of this texture, so I haven't included the extra copy here. If you wish to use a different Opacity layer for the Shield effect, you'll need to make a separate image for that:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
