The Western Wall in Jerusalem, Israel.

Also known to many as the Wailing Wall. The most holy place in the world. This room is the plaza at the Western Wall with the old ramp to the Mugrabi Gate and a little bit of the buildings and streets of the Old City nearby for effect. The textures for the Western Wall, Dome of the Rock and the Jerusalem Skyline are made from actual photographs.

If you have seen this before it should look familiar.

Special Thanks to OnriWolf715 for her input and ideas adding to the realism you see.

All buildings in Jerusalem are required by law to have their exterior constructed of a type of limestone or dolomite called 'Jerusalem Stone' which is common only in and around Jerusalem. This gives the city it's unique golden color. The Western Wall as well as the two previous Jewish Temples built on this site many centuries ago were also made from this rare stone, giving the temple a golden and bright look. It must have been quite a sight to behold!

Back to 'virtual reality'... this room is not exactly to scale and it not 100% the real thing, but it is a fairly realistic IMVU version to give you the impression you are there. There are many furniture nodes so that you can add standing and praying poses or furniture near the wall, on the plaza and nearby streets. I only put in a few standing spots to get you closer to things to make it easier to add your own stuff. You will enjoy customizing it the way you like. I recommend using the 'birds eye view' when moving furniture in the areas between the tall buildings.

The insides of the buildings and the mosque are not really intended to be authentic or used much. They are there mostly for effect. However, I did place a few furniture nodes inside some you may find interesting, like the building with the patio, inside the tops of the three tall towers with pointed tops, on top of the wall by the mosque and a few behind the wall itself. You will also notice that you cannot see inside the windows or tunnels but you can see out.
I left out the divider between males and females at the wall but I do have one available as a furniture item in the catalog. You can add it and move it where you like or remove it for special events. It matches the partitions you see in the plaza. Click the icon at the right to get one. Click for Divider furniture
This is a fairly large room with lots of surfaces for your computer to draw. Please allow a little longer for it to completely load. It may also be a little laggy when panning if you are using a slower computer.
Please note that as you move your posing spots closer to the wall or skyline you will notice the limited resolution of photographic images currently available in IMVU. This is not a flaw, it is just how it is to allow for faster downloads.

Note: At the 'Real Life' wall, the earthen ramp leading up to the Mugrabi Gate was washed out after a storm and a temporary wooden bridge is in place until a permanent concrete one can be built. Much time has elapsed because excavation at this holy site is very tedious due to artifacts below the surface, and also because of Arab protests accusing Israel of digging to undermine the foundation of one of their nearby Mosques. (Imagine that, Arabs causing problems for Israel.) I made this room based on the area before this occurred. I didn't see a need to make it with the temporary bridge. When the new ramp is complete and I can get photos of it, or better yet take some photos of it myself, I may make another up-to-date room.
