Table Settings for Kwanzaa
During a Kwanzaa celebration, you will need a table prepared with:

A Mkeka----------a place mat made of straw

A Kikombe Cha Umoja----------the Unity Cup

A Kinara-----------a candle holder for 7 candles

A set of Mishumaa saba----------7 candles (3 red, 1 black, 3 green)

a variety of Mazao-----------fruits, vegetable and nuts

Vibunzi----------ears of corn representing the number of children in the home

Zawadi----------hand made gifts


Each day during the Kwanzaa celebration one candle should be lit beginning with the black candle in the center of the Kinara.
The rest of the candles should then be lit starting from left to right.

Each day one of the seven principles should be recited while lighting the candle.
The reciting of Each principle should be followed with what the principle means to you or one or all of your family members.
