The Cage

Need to lock up one of your unruly guests? Keep that rude avie locked away with the Cage. This object sits invisibly in any room, until triggered. Then it pops up out of the ground and imprisons whomever is unfortunate enough to be standing on top of it. You can release them later if you want, or keep that jerk locked up for good, at your discretion.

Commands are:
"Cage" to imprison that avie.
"Release" to drop the bars and hide the trap again.

To properly position the Cage, first drop one in the room and then type "Cage". You can't see the Cage until it's triggered, as it sits below the floor. Stand in the spot you wish to have your trap set at, and use the Furniture Tool to move it carefully into place. Hold down "Shift" and "Control" as needed to move it's position perfect around you. Then type in "Release" to hide your Cage again. When you enter the room, the Cage will always remain hidden until triggered.

Don't like bland Steel? Wish those bars actually made some SOUND? Then DERIVE IT! Make your own version, and even sell it in the catalog for a small markup over my original, and you can keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below are the templates you'll need to get started:

This is the texture for the Cage bars, roof, and floor. Use this to make simple changes to the look of the Cage, like color:

This is the Wireframe layout for the Cage. This shows you exactly how each and every pixel attaches to the structure of the Cage. Use this to make completely new texture maps for the Cage. This is something best left to the Pro's:

This is the texture used for the Sign and string attached to the Sign:

This is the Wireframe for both the Sign itself and the string:

Here is a blank sign so you can write anything you like on it. Just keep your text and images centered in the yellow area and it should look great. Then resize it to 512x512 or smaller. Make it as small as possible, well still being readable, to minimize file size. Some people won't buy your item if the file size is too large:

If you use sound effects for the firing sequence, be aware that looping sound will play even after you get off the guns. Also I highly recommend you download and use Audacity for your sound editing. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
