The Elite Shoulder Pads
(This item can be used with both Male and Female avatars)

This is the Shoulder Pad's appearance if used in IMVU Desktop or Mobile:

What's up with all of these naked aliens? If you're really elite, you need the clothes to match, like the Elite Shoulder Pads! This exoplanetary shoulder covering is made for the highest ranking Lords and Emperors. If you wear this, you determine the fates of planets and stars. Let the rank and file run around in their birthday suits, doing unspeakable stuff to human posteriors. For the most elite of the elite, only the Elite Shoulder Pads will do!

Commands:
"ShieldOn" - Turns on your personal deflector
"ShieldOff" - Deactivates the deflector

PLEASE NOTE: This item replaces body channel 73. VERY few items use this channel, but if you're item does, it will either remove the Shoulder Pads or remove that item. You won't be able to use both items at the same time. The Elite Shoulder Pads are found under "Male Tops" as IMVU has no Uni- category for clothing. This does not effect it's usage, just how you find it when looking in your inventory. It works fine with female avies. Please use TRY IT before you BUY IT to ensure it works with your chosen outfit! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't work with your existing outfit or body type.

---------------------------- Deriving Section --------------------------

Wish the Shoulder Pads were in Steel? Want the shield to glow Blue? And how about some SOUND FX's?? Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

This is the actual Texture map used on the Shoulder Pads. Keep in mind that the right side is a mirror of the left, so any text will be backwards. Avoid words and numbers, and only use logos that look good mirrored:

This is a "Grey" template for the Shoulder Pads. You'll find this useful if you want to completely re-do the apperance of the Shoulder Pads, but retain all of my careful shading. Just layer your detail work over mine in your image editor. It'll save you alot of time and work:

This is the Wireframe Template for the Shoulder Pads. This shows you exactly how the Texture map adheres to the structure of the model. You'll need this if you want to create a completely new Texture map:

This is the Texture map for the Tassels. Keep in mind that by altering this image and the Opacity layer below, it's possible to transform these tassels into spikes, blades, or even remove them entirely. Don't feel like you have to use Tassels, there's alot possible here:

This is the Opacity layer for the Tassels. An Opacity image is like a Black and White silhouette, which tells the computer which parts of the image should be visible, and which should not. Basically, the darker the image becomes, the less of the model is visible. This image MUST match the shape of your new Texture! You can use gray to make things glass-like, but due to errors in IMVU's handing of transparency, you might see other strange graphic glitches. It's best to stick to solid white and black:

This is a clearer Wireframe template for the Tassels (although you can see the Wireframe in the Texture map image as well):

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Also avoid looping sounds, as they tend to get annoying to listen to very quickly. Try to keep your volume levels low as well, as IMVU tends to over-amplify all audio playback to near ear-bleeding levels.
