This ancient world globe is cast in bronze and held in place by an intricate wooden frame. It feature the "Dragon's Tail" extending southwards from the far eastern extremity of Asia, the last vestige of Ptolemy's landlocked depiction of the Indian Ocean, nearly 1,500 years earlier. Note the absense of the Americas, as they had not yet been discovered.
