Hoist the colours !

Animated Pirate Flag on flagpole, bearing the skull and crossed cutlasses symbol
of the historical pirate John 'Calico Jack' Rackham, also used extensively in the
'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies. Flag animation gives the impression that the
flag is fluttering in the wind.

Calico Jack is most remembered for two things: (1) the design of his Jolly Roger flag, which contributed to the popularization of the design and its association with piracy in popular culture; and (2) employing two of the most notorious female pirates of the age as part of his crew – Mary Read and Anne Bonny, the latter of whom he had whisked away from her husband.
Rackham made a career of plundering small vessels close to shore around the islands of the Caribbean. In November 1720, Rackham's ship was attacked by an armed sloop sent by Governor Nicholas Lawes of Jamaica, and was captured. Rackham and his crew were taken to Jamaica, where he and nearly all of his crew members were sentenced to hang. Rackham's body was placed in a gibbet at the entrance of Port Royal harbour as a warning to would-be pirates. The present day location is now known as Rackhams Bay. Of the two female members of the crew, Mary Read died in prison during childbirth in 1721. The fate of Anne Bonny, who was not executed, is unknown, although many presume she spent the rest of her life in colonial America.
