I've not made a sword for IMVU in a while. It got to the point that I was waking up in the still of the night, sweating profusely, a feeling as if my skin was covered in scurrying ants. I NEEDED to make another sword but was (still am) patently bored to tears with nihonto (Say it ain't so, Izzy!). After a few hours of rummaging through the catalogue, I found a mesh that was unlike anything I had ever seen and, bonus, was tragically under-developed. And, looking at the derivations that existed, I was confident that I could do better. Behold, my children:

This sword would rank about 11th century, maybe 12th but would be appropriate right up to the Rennaisance and the advent of the sidesword. Shiny bronze hardware, wire banded walnut handle and a tripple fullered iron blade, this is a pretty aristocratic piece of hardware. And note the integrated belt and scabbard with matching bronze buckles, locket and chape. I was very pleased to see how well the belt mesh fit the waist of various avatars I tried it with. Belt accessories on IMVU tend to be a 50/50 hit or miss. And, for an added flair, the scabbard is subtlely embossed with an arabesque pattern.

I quite literally crammed as much detail into the textures for this as the mesh would permit. It looks stunning. And, like all good weapons, it is unisex! No need to buy two--unless you're gifting a friend. I encourage that.

Try it before you buy it!
