the elven word li'raltu has two meanings: "the flame" and "the anger", there's also a third meaning, but its impossible to translate it to any human language. Once I asked an elf to explain me what it means and he answered: "It's the suns emotion towards the desert". I didn't really understand that, since I never was in a desert and have never seen how the sun feels about it...
however - the strange piece of gold, which you can see between the blade and it's handle is the heart of a golden golem, a creature created by the Nu'Rha. The elves use the Nu'Rha Magic in it to keep the pieces of the blade together.
