Developer's guide

Welcome developer. This is a quick guide to deriving from this mesh, with some information on the texturing patterns used and several templates aimed at making your life easier. This mesh is fully designed to be easily derived from so that you can easily make your own version of it to fit your needs.

Specifications

This derivable shirt features a fully mapped button-down shirt complete with an opacity map and the underlying skintight mesh. The shirt features a full collar and is longer than the average female top cloth mesh. The underlying skintight mesh is a standard skintight top with a skin composite texture, so you can use any texture and opacity-map you already have from any other skintight female top you've already made. Or you can just use the provided textures for a normal, unobtrusive black spaghetti string short top. The skintight mesh doesn't have shoulders, to avoid clipping issues with the shirt in some poses. If you need the shoulder area of the underlying skintight to be visible, you should use this derivable mesh instead. The shirt mesh is fully opacity-enabled so you can make it long or short sleeved, open or closed, longer or shorter, or just about anything you can think of.

Note how the mesh has been carefully crafted to be around 80Kb for faster downloading, making this shirt both highly detailed and realistic, while still fast-loading on the IMVU client!

The mesh has been carefully weighted so that it bends naturally with the upper torso. To avoid clipping in the shoulder area and the armpits, the whole shoulder area of the underlying torso has been removed. If you need the shoulder area of the underlying skintight to be visible, you should use this derivable mesh instead.

Textures

All the materials in the mesh have been assigned meaningful names to make it easier to identify them. All of the textures are oppacity mapped and non-tiling. Also, the placeholder textures that are in place are color-coded to help you in easily identify what material they belong to. Nonetheless, here's the templates for all the materials on the mesh, as well as a definition of what they are and their main characteristics. You can download the templates for the textures by right-clicking on their names and selecting "Save file as..." from the context menu. I strongly recommend you use JPG files for your textures.

The mesh comes with an open, short-sleeved opacity map by default. You can easily turn the shirt into a closed, long-sleeved one with a full white opacity map. I also highly recomend that you turn off blending if you do not plan to make your shirt semi-transparent, to avoid overlapping parts making each other go invisible, which could mainly happen with the collar.

Color Tiling Notes
M00 - Skintight 256 x 512   No The skintight mesh under the shirt. Fully opacity-mapped, skin-composite. No shoulders.
M10 - Shirt 256 x 256   No The button-down shirt. Fully opacity-mapped.

You can find two versions of this derivable mesh, one with a complete torso underneath and one with a partial one:

{F} Derivable Shirt Female
This mesh has a full torso under the shirt. This means you can fully use the opacity map without fear of empty areas showing through. Unfortunately, it also means there will be some clipping under the armpits in some poses.

{F} Derivable Shirt 2 Female
This mesh has a torso under the shirt with the shoulders removed. This means there will be no clipping at all with this mesh, but you must make sure to make an opacity map for the shirt that covers the shoulder area.
