The Time Vortex was something that was rarely seen until recent technologies were
created that allowed for direct travel through time, Technology passed to various
organizations to keep order in the time stream by the Techomages, though it has
been theorized that they obtained this technology from a much older race before
their sudden disappearance.

Working with this technology, it was observed that travel through the vortex to
The Dreaming is show as a purple doppler effect. The advantage of traveling via this vortex
to the dreaming is that the radiation of this vortex shields the individual from temporal
displacement that often will effect individuals traveling there by other means.
In other words, the flow time for is the same in the Dream Kings realm as it is in
The Waking and time passes at the same rate for them, in accordance to the
amount of time they are away.
