The Saw Blade

Some chat-rooms are little edgy... and some chat-rooms are HARDCORE. If you operate one of the latter, you need the Saw Blade. This animated item sends deadly blade through the floor, wall, or ceiling on command, in one of two lethal strikes that liven up even the DEADEST of rooms. Put a few up around the room, uncomfortably close to your visitors, and enjoy the show. Never talk about the "Weather" again!

Commands are:
"Saw1" - Rams the blade outwards, where it cuts into the air for a bit, before retracted back
"Saw2" - Swipes the blade sideways in a deep radial slash

Like all Furniture items, you can use the Furniture Controls to copy, move, scale, and rotate the Saw Blade as much as you desire. Once you own one, you can use it as many times as you like, in every room you own, and place as many copies as you see fit, as well as scale and rotate it to suit your needs. You can not place furniture items in rooms you do not own.

Is the blade too clean for you? Too dirty? Wish it would move constantly, rather then on command? And how about some SOUND EFFECTS??!! Well then, buddy, start Deriving! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below is the template you'll need to get started (Right Click and Save As to your computer):

To change the default action of the Saw Blade, swap the "stance.Standing" command with one of the other commands. The Saw Blade will then play that animation in a constant loop. By default, it loops the animation that keeps it out of sight. Any of the other animations can use any command name you wish, but the action you want to play constantly without command has to be named "stance.Standing".

This is the Texture map used for the Saw Blade. You can use this to make simple changes, like altering color:

This is the Wireframe Template for Saw Blade. This shows you exactly how the Texture map lays over the model. You'll need in order to make a new Texture map from scratch:

This is the Additive texture for the Edge of the Saw Blade. An Additive texture is an image that is glowing, and is brighter, and more solid, the lighter each pixel is. If you wish to colorize or change the detail of the Edge, make sure your new image is very bright or your new Edge will be barely visible. You can not, for instance, have a black Edge using an Additive texture. It would become invisible. To make a black Edge, you'd have to create a matching Opacity layer for your new black Edge texture and change the Blending Mode to Composite. This is also a good idea if you want blood or anything else that doesn't glow. This image it set to scroll sideways, also also make certain the left and right sides match or a nasty visible line will appear as it moves:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
