An opulent sideboard or server from about 1880 bears sculptures of jesters, the only courtier who could tell the truth to the king, often as a "joke."
Artistically hand carved of solid cherry, there are leaves and acorns, faces and fluted columns. The original finish is exceptionally well preserved and has been waxed and polished, so that all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Size is 47 1/2" wide, 19" deep, 74" tall and the marble top is 39" high.Priced $2450.00
