The Television
(Retro 1970's Black and White)

Is your virtual reality getting a little stale? Need something to watch well your friends prattle on about their latest drama? Try my retro, 1970's, Black and White, Television! This vintage box is an exact replica of the set I used to watch almost every episode of Star Trek the Next Generation. Sure, it's not new, shiny, and flashy, but if we only cared about those things, everybody would be wearing Spandex and Velcro jumpsuits! It has two commands, "ON" and "OFF". Guess what they do!

For all you new to IMVU Decoration, you only need to buy one Furniture item, for use in all of your rooms! You can have dozens of copies in the same room, or use that one item in every Room you own. Click on the Hammer icon in your room view and experiment with the various furniture adjusting functions. You can shrink things, grow them, spin them in all directions, and adjust their placement in small amounts. Hold down Shift, Alt, and Control to change the function you have selected. Once you're done, click on the Hammer icon again to turn off Room Editing. Once you experiment, you'll be AMAZED with the number of ways you can use still. It's cheap, it's easy, and it's fun!

Don't Black and White video? Wish the TV wasn't on MUTE all the time? Well then DERIVE IT! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and you can keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Below are the templates you'll need to get started:

This is the Color texture for the Face parts of the TV Set. This includes the "Turned Off" screen. Use this texture to make small changes in the layout of the TV:

This is the Wireframe for the TV Set. Use this if you want to build a completely new texture for the TV from scratch. This is for the advanced users, as it will show you exactly how the skin goes over the polygon framework of the model:

This is the Color texture for the rest of the TV Set's Body:

This is the Animation for the screen, shown when you turn the TV on:

To make your own, completely new animation for the TV Screen, try using AVI3BMP, a free program you can find here: "http://www.bottomap.com/Software/A4B/A4B.html". When using it, it's best to aim for a 64 frame video that's 8 frames high and wide, so you can use my existing animation settings. Otherwise, you'll have to find the right settings yourself. Also make sure you have no black frames, and your finished image is rescaled to 512x512 and in JPEG format. So you will need another program to convert the image for final use, like Paintbrush..

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
