The ofuku-gake, also known as tegara (or incorrectly as tegarami), is a piece of chirimen silk cloth, folded in a triangular shape. It is attached to the bun of the ofuku hairstyle, which is nowadays only worn by senior maiko (Kyoto apprentice geisha).
This ofuku-gake has a design of fireworks, to bring a festive mood to the hot summer months.
