This is a LAYERABLE skirt piece- it will not replace whatever you're wearing on the bottom, and it does not have diffusion enabled so it won't turn things under it invisible, either. You can wear it with your favorite pants or smaller skirt to mix and match your look.

The crinoline was a stiff fabric or springy steel mesh worn under a skirt in certain time periods (1850-1865, especially) to help it maintain its wide shape. This partial, copper crinoline mesh is only holding up pieces of torn fabric and a small overskirt, but it still works great for a grunge-Victorian or steampunk look. This version has a dark red overskirt
