Shogun (shogun) is a military rank and historical title in Japan. The Japanese word for "general", it is made up of two kanji words: sho, meaning "commander", "general", or "admiral", and gun meaning troops or warriors. The modern rank is equivalent to a Generalissimo. As a title, it is the short form of Seii Taishogun, the governing individual at various times in the history of Japan, ending when Tokugawa Yoshinobu relinquished the office to Emperor Meiji in 1867. By special arrangement with the House of Representatives of Japan I am able to bring you these faithful shogun armour repoductions. Each armour is one of a kind, and are painstakingly crafted over 6 months. Each armour comes with a gold cresent moon as part of the helmet signifying Shogun General status among the Shoguns home clan and the warriors he leads. The armour's design is intricate and layered individually at some places and to top it off, armour pieces are cast bronze and not some cheap plastic. The design of the Shogun armour was meant to be strong enough to provide adequate protection and yet light and flexible to permit free movement by a sword-fighter. This Shogun body armour (tosei gusoku) comprised multiple layerd pieces of thick leather for the chest and body, and another piece for the back while the armour protection for the arms composed of small pieces of metal bound together. His hands were also protected. The intricate details of the layered kusazuri (skirt) can be seen. From whichever angle, the Shogun seems quite well protected. The mempo (half-mask - NOT INCLUDED) with yodare-kake (for throat protection), protected the samurai's lower face and made the wearer look intimidating. These reproductions would normally cost you upwards of 5,000.00 - 8000.00 per-armour outfit, but I'm alble to sell these to you for only a few credits. Get yours today.
