The forest of Mirkwood, once known as Greenwood the Great, has since fallen into decay and is now filled with Giant Spiders, black squirrels, white deer and more fearsome things. There is one safe path through it, maintained by the Elves of this Woodland Realm, but it can also be as treacherous as the forest itself.
