The White Fire
(Despite it's catalog listing, this item is for BOTH genders!)

Feeling a little chilly? How about some supernatural fire to warm you up! Set the world on fire with the White Fire. The White Fire is a ring of burning flame you can summon up from the ground on command. It's handy for reading books at night, warming your toes, or holding off armies of Killer Evil Snowmen. The White Fire also has an fire-wave attack, should you feel more offensive then defensive.

Commands:
"SummonFire" - Draws the fire up from the earth
"BanishFire" - Puts out the magic flames
"FireBurst" - Explodes the fire in a deadly ring

PLEASE NOTE: This item remains HIDDEN until use! You won't know you have it on until you activate it. White Fire is for Male *AND* Female avies! It's only listed under Male Miscellaneous because IMVU lacks a Uni- category. This item will also conflict with any item that uses Channel 41 in the avie's body. If you try to use any item that conflicts with that Channel, it will either remove this item, or the other item will disappear. Please use "Try It" before then "Buy It", to ensure it works with your wardrobe.

Wish that fire was Red? Yellow? Blue? Pokadots??? And how about some Sound Effects!? Well then, get to work and DERIVE it! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Here are the templates you'll need below:

This is the actual Texture map the White Fire. Use this to make simple changes, like Color:

Normally I'd show you the Opacity layer next, but because the White Fire uses "Additive" blending, the Texture map *IS* the Opacity map. The brighter the image, the more solid it becomes. And the image will always appear to glow. I've coupled this with vertex shading, in order to avoid straight edges appearing at the top of the fire. Straight edges on fire would make it look more like a TV set then a burning flame, so it's best not to change any of my blending settings in the Material tab.

This is the Wireframe Template for the White Fire. This shows you exactly how the Texture map attaches to the model. As you can see, the model only ever uses a small portion of the Texture map at the time. The material is set to "Scroll" animation, so imagine that Wireframe shown endlessly falling through the Texture map, showing all of it eventually, but only a small portion at any point in time. If you wanted to, for example, have ghostly faces in the fire, you'd have to plan for them being being small and short, in order to fit on the wireframe as it zips through the image, over and over again. Also make absolutely certain you're image tiles correctly, ie. make sure the top and right edge match the bottom and left edge. Otherwise you'll see an distracting edge zip through your fire every few seconds, ENDLESSLY!:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Please keep your sound volume levels within acceptable limits. DON'T MAKE YOUR SOUND AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!!! Loud sounds will annoy other users, and reduce your sales. Also avoid using Looping sounds, as IMVU has no controls to stop Looping sounds once they start playing.

Also please keep in mind that Deriving is not the same as using extraction tools and resubmitting. When you use tools to extract and resubmit my items without using IMVU's Deriving function, you remove me from earning anything off the sale of my items. So you're effectively STEALING from me. Not only will this get your account revoked, your credits ceases, your PayPal account shutdown, and get you into all kinds of legal troubles... it's also just plain wrong. Please don't steal from me. Please use the "Derive from Product" link and keep your account honest. You profit, I profit, and your honesty insures I'll be making many more wonderful things for you to derive from for many years to come.
