This ship is a replica
of a real tall ship that I have had the privilege of sailing on in real
life. I helped the crew raise sails and
I even got to steer! Sailing on a tall ship is an amazing experience
that I tried my best to duplicate here, of course on here I omitted the
hard work of raising sails and swabbing the deck. You can just relax
and enjoy
the ride! This IMVU version is a true to scale replica of the real ship. A few facts about it: Tall Ship Manitou is a replica of an 1800’s “coasting” cargo schooner, similar to those that sailed the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. She is a two-masted, gaff rigged, topsail schooner, measures 114 feet in length, a beam of 21 feet (width), has over 3,000 square feet of sail and displaces (weighs) over one hundred tons. She is one of the largest sailing vessels on the Great Lakes. |
