A fascinating blend of cultures, this cherry cabinet from Java in the Dutch East Indies has a traditional European shape, hand carved by local artisans with local motifs from Java.
Colonial furniture bridging two worlds, this furniture has lavish detailing and every surface is hand hewn and chiseled by masters. Of uncertain age, the finish is very fine and has been waxed and polished. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster.
